As with any other new mother, she kept a record of the normal growth and activities
of her first child, complete with photographs.  Her loss was unbearable for quite some time.

QUOTE FROM BABY BOOK
" September 21, 1921 - He has been gone almost three months, and the pang seems worse than
at first.  The weather is the cause, I think, as I have lit a fire and it was through the colder months
I had, and loved Him.  God help me, that I may not always feel this way, but that I may know that
now there is a good reason for me to live, and to live better, so that I may have my dear baby again."

Eighteen months later, she gave birth to another son, Richard.
Born on a Wednesday,
he died one month before
his first birthday at
11 months and 3 days.
