When we decided to get married we just wanted to
go to the little chapel at Highlands Inn in Monterey.
We wanted just our immediate Family.
Our combined 5 children wanted a
Wedding they could be in.  So after thinking
about it, we decided this might be a great way to a
new beginning with our joined Families.
So they were very much involved.
After all, isn't that how it should be?
Because it was a second marriage for both of us,
I wouldn't wear white. We decided to have an outdoor afternoon affair with a colorful spring theme.
I wore my favorite color, blue.
He wore a Navy Blue western style suit with cowboy
boots. The girls wore floppy hats and carried
spring bouquets in their baskets.  The boys wore
Navy suits with shirts to match the girls dresses.
The weather was sunny and very warm.  Something
we were thankful for because it had rained the week
before for several days.  It was held at my Sisters
house in the country.  My brother-in-law worked so
hard to clean the barn and grounds in time for the
day.  It was a joyous occasion, but not without a
glimmer of sadness. My mother had passed a way
just 4 months before.  I wished she could be there
to see how happy I was.  I carried a blue
handkerchief of hers and  somehow I knew she
was.  It was the perfect beginning to a
Wonderful Marriage
that has lasted over 2 decades!

Along with our 5 children, we
included my Sister's son
and daughter.
My son lost his first
tooth that morning
His son and mine share
the same first name!
They even graduated
together.
My daughter was now
the "middle child"
of the girls.
It wasn't until after
we met that we found
out our
daughters ice
skated together.
Unfortunately
the bee's liked
her bouquet and
stung her on
the cheek.
How we became a real live
