| Listed as Anders Peter and Peder on the LDS genealogy page "family search.com". Had a small farm in Vest Saaby, Denmark, which had been in the family of his wife for many generations. He had 4-5 cows, grew rye, barley and oats. Also had a vegetable garden and fruit trees ( apples, pears, plums, cherries) and grew potatoes, goose berries and black currents. His farm was not large enough to have horses, so he worked at a neighboring farmand even worked on Some Sundays which was against his faith in the Gospel. He fixed up the house to sell so the family could move to America with many other Danish Morman converts. He decided to send his family ahead and join them after the sale of the home. He made sure their trip was comfortable by paying extra to have them in a train across America from New York to Omaha to Richmond, Utah that had cushioned seats and was near the dining room so they would have milk for the young children. After the sale of their home, he joined his family in October of 1884. He was a family man with 10 children (one died at 11 days old) and gave the children many fond memories. Bolina describes singing and dancing around the Christmas Tree, going to picnics where her father worked and often staying at parties by her father's employer until 4:00 in the morning. After reaching America and loosing his wife and 3 children to Typhoid, he and Bolina became much closer, with him nursing her back to health from her bout with Typhoid. Bolina describes how she was nearly deaf and blind and lost feeling in her left leg from the medication. She describes how she remembers seeing her little brother layed out in his coffin and she wanted to die also. But she thought of her father and of all the wonderful things he had done for them, and the grief he was feeling, loosing 4 family members in 5 weeks, that she decided she had to live, for him. When she was almost recovered, he took her outside at Christmas for a sleigh ride. She didn't have enough strength to climb in the sled, and without a word he whisked her up into the sleigh and took her for the most glorious ride. Bolina had many fond memories of her father and at age 94 she still had a picture of him. Date of death was given as March 31, 1891 by daughter Maren and March 17 by Bolina. | A very happy couple Married Jul 16, 1858 Denmark Wanting the best for their children, they decided to immigrate to America. Once he was able to join his family he worked for the railroad shoveling snow so he could buy a small farm. While working he almost broke his back and had to be laid up for a while, but he did recover. The hose he bought was very run down, but he was able to fix it up and paint the inside and outside. The children attended Sunday School quite regularly. The Bible was in both English and Scandinavian. The children were taught the Bible, studying the Old Testament 3 days per week and the New Testament 3 days per week. After Sunday School they also attended church for Scandinavians from noon until 2:00p.m. The family loved to attend Church all day with the other immigrants, giving them a familiar feeling of the "Old Country", a feeling of "Family". In Denmark their main meal of the day was at noon with a lighter snack around 4:00 P.M. After his wifes's death, according to Bolina, "He was so sad". He had always taken care of everyone, always had a remedy for all problems, but now he was lost. Bolina was trying to be strong, understanding and helpful.
